THIS HEART-MELTING, SWEET, CURIOUS, WELL-MANNERED BOY PURRS ALL DAY (likes to snuggle and kiss, too)

Hello friends! My name is Carter. I am a two (2) year old boy who was welcomed into the King Street Cats family where I settled in with a wonderful foster family and immediatey began working my magical charm on them. And I am a happy boy! In fact, I purr all day long.

You've noticed that my bio says I'm FIV+ - do not stop reading here because I am "positively adoptable" and so full of love and affection. I've brought so much happiness to my foster family and I'll bring the same to you.

FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. It is *not* human HIV. Humans *cannot* catch FIV. Dogs *cannot* catch FIV.

It is spread from cat to cat by means of deep-puncture bite wounds - something that's not hard to imagine when a litle boy has been rescued from the streets. I found myself at a Baltimore shelter. Happily, I now know I'm destined for a life as a cherished family member.

Having FIV means that at some point I may, or may not, develop a heightened susceptibility to the ailments that we all face regularly.

This is the "extra" that I ask of you in order to keep me healthy:

  • Feed me a healthy, high quality high protein/grain free (preferably wet food only, because this is so much healthier than dry food)
  • Keep me indoors and away from combative cats
  • Establish a relationship with a trusted veterinarian (who is enlightened about FIV).
  • Bring me to my vet regularly and any time when you notice that I'm not feeling or acting like myself (this means getting to know me well enough through patience and diligent observation to understand what "acting like myself" means so you can recgonize when I'm not acting like myself.

Wait, that's it? Yes, that's it. That's what I need from you. I know you'd lavish that upon any feline friend you brought into your home.

Now that we've got that out of the way... onto the best part: me! I am extremely cute with my perfectly proportioned little face and my bright green eyes. I am as soft, silvery color with cream colored designs mixed in. I'm soft and silky too. You'll especially appreciate this when you give me hugs and let me give you kitty kisses of gratitude.

I am a sweet, curious little kitty.  I will steal your heart because I love to purr all day.  I'm also one absolutely stunning cat - and I know it! I've got a beautiful fluffy white chest and paws, a pattern on my back reminiscent of a grey snow leopard, and a raccoon tail!

As I said, I'm two (2) years old. This is an ideal adoption age because my purrsonality has settled and everyone agrees that I've got a winning combination of appealing traits.  I weigh about 9 pounds and I'd like to maintain a healthy weight as part of my overall wellness regimen.

My favorite activities are chasing after mouse toys and ribbons. I adore being petted and rubbing up against your legs whenever I catche you standing still for a few seconds. I am a pretty independent kitty, so I'm happy to snuggle up near you when you're working, but won't try to sit on top of your lap (or laptop!).

My foster family says I am the most adorable napper in the world - I love to stretch out my front paws nice and long whenever I'm sleeping. I am litter box trained and I don't try to scratch what I'm not supposed to.

My volunteer friends at KSC say:

  • "Carter is an absolute doll baby."
  • "He is a very good boy! Enjoys lots of snorgling and kisses."

I am a a real treat. I'm currently living with my foster family and they hope I find  a wonderful forever home with a loving family! Please ask to meet me - it's easy to get started: send an email to contact@kingstreetcats.org and ask to meet Carter. I can't wait to make you happy and purr for you. Thank you!

Happily yours,
Carter
