CURRENTLY IN FOSTER

Hi Everyone!

How do you do? My name is Rose (or as my foster mom calls me Rosie Rose). I have had quite a journey getting to be ready for my forever family but I am ready now!

I came to King Street Cats as a very small kitten from a shelter that didn’t have all the resources to care for me...I really got lucky when KSC said I could come to them.

I had terrible problems with my eyes that caused me to be sick most of the time. I had lots of different medications and eye-drops trying to make things better...but nothing helped very much at all. I spent a lot of time at the doctors’ offices.

Then the doctors discovered my right eye was “collapsing” making me sicker and it was very painful. They said the best way to help me was to remove the sick eye. I don’t mind telling you I was kind of scared when I heard that; then they explained it would make me stop being sick all the time and I was very relieved. The wonderful folks at King Street Cats said they would do whatever they could to help me and we scheduled the surgery.

I had the operation and everything went really well. It turned out though that the same trouble I had with my right eye was happening to my left eye so they had to remove that one too. I know that sounds bad but since I couldn’t see out of eyes anyway the biggest difference is I am not in pain anymore. It is such a relief.

I am all healed from my operation and even better, the awful chronic upper respiratory infection I had is completely gone!

I am a normal kitten now. I love to play with my spring shaped toys and chase them all around the room, when I catch them I carry them around in my mouth so my foster brothers and sisters don’t get them. I can climb up and down the big cat tree and everything else in the room. I really like surprising foster mom by letting her find me someplace she didn’t think I could get to.

I have been living with quite a few other kittens, we all came to King Street Cats as “singles” and became great friends over the course of our months together. Chasing each other, wrestling, and snuggling together is so much fun! Having the company of other kitties makes me very happy! Also, I have become an expert at going UP stairs but  am still learning how to navigate going DOWN...but I know I will figure it out.

Now that I am better I really like to show everyone how grateful and happy I am. When someone picks me up I love to snuggle up against them and rub faces. Foster mom says she doesn’t think I ever stop purring...but why would I stop? After being sick and in pain for a long time, I am healthy and happy...life is good! I like to think I am quite special...not because I am blind...but just because I am Rose!

So I am ready to find a family that has another young cat or two I can play with. I think dogs would be scary for me but older children would be wonderful.
