Hi my name is Bella, and my caregivers tell me it is because I am beautiful! I am a small-framed, black and white, female cat with bright, yellow-green eyes.  I am very well-socialized, sweet and friendly. Despite being found outside on my own, I am still very trusting. I can be quite chatty and playful, and I LOVE having my belly rubbed!   And… I have an amazing story to tell you.

One day in April, I found myself tired and hungry (SO hungry), so I went in search of a house where I could find some help.  I hollered at someone’s kitchen door and jumped up on the kitchen windowsill until they heard me. Lucky for me, I found some cat people! They fed me and were super surprised at how thin I was and how much I ate. I was so friendly that they thought I was a lost pet and they tried everything they could to find my family.  In the meantime, I came back several times a day – every day – begging for food.  The family already had two rescues of their own – neither of whom were super settled yet, so I couldn’t come inside.  They opened up their screened-in gazebo for me, but I wouldn’t stay. I just kept coming for food and disappearing back into the woods. After a few days, the people who lived there took me to a vet with the intention of getting me to a shelter. This is when they found out my secret – I was a nursing mama and I had kittens I was caring for! The people immediately took me back home, fed me, and watched carefully when I left their property. Later, the Dad and a friend experienced in rescue went into the woods looking for my babies, while the Mom sat with me in the gazebo. They found the home I had made where I had tunneled deep into a pile of wood and branches and leaves.  Inside, all the way at the back, was a small area that held my 5 beautiful babies! They collected my babies and set up a wonderful home for them – and me – inside the gazebo. They named me Bella and loved me like their own. They supported me while I nursed and weaned my babies and they found forever homes for every last one!

My foster mom tells me that I was an amazing mommy and I did purrrfectly wonderful job. She said that it was my turn to find my forever home and my forever people, so she asked KSC if they could help, and they said yes! Will you be the last part of this amazing story and help me find a happy ending?
