SWEET AS A BOSTON CREME PIE AND LOVES AFFECTIONATE GESTURES
Hello friends, my name is Boston Creme. I got my name because I'm as sweet as a pie, am sort of dressed like a Boston Creme pie and because I make my human friends happy to be around me!
I was fending for myself outdoors in the Baltimore area. I was brought to a shelter where I received medical attention and immediately convinced the staff that I have the disposition of an indoor family boy. They called King Street Cats knowing that KSC is the place to find forever homes.
I am a well mannered, mature boy looking forward to years and years of companionship and togetherness with you.
I'm a bit shy at first, but it's obvious that I love and seek out human affection. I love to be brushed, petted, and will climb in your lap once I’m comfortable. I'm hoping for a patient and loving human of my own who will understand my initial shyness.
While I was fending for myself outdoors, a mean cat crossed my path. Perhaps we were competing for food; I can't remember. Perhaps this cat was afraid and reacted as nature programmed him or her to. At any rate, I received a deep-puncture bite wound. This is how I acquired FIV. Let's talk about that now so that you'll understand that I'm positively adoptable!
  • FIV stands for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus.
  • It is *not* human HIV. Humans *cannot* catch FIV. Dogs *cannot* catch FIV.
  • It is spread from cat to cat by means of deep-puncture bite wounds.
  • Having FIV means that at some point I may, or may not, develop a heightened susceptibility to the ailments that we all face regularly. 
  • This is the "extra" that I ask of you in order to keep me healthy:
  • Feed me a healthy, high quality diet - one that is protein-based and grain-free... and preferably wet food because this is so much healthier than any dry kibble. Healthier canned food is readily available commercially.
  • Keep me indoors always and away from combative cats
  • Establish a relationship with a veterinarian who is keeps current on the care of FIV+ cats and understands FIV+ well
  • Get to know me and my habits well enough so that you can bring me to the veterinarian anytime you notice that I'm not acting like myself
  • Take me to the veterinarian for regular care and checkups
That's it? Yup! That's it. You'd do these things for any animal companion, right?
