In March 2020 King Street Cats got a request from a shelter to take a young cat who was having some odd breathing issues but was so adorable it was impossible to say no.
Nani, which means “beauty” in Hawaiian, stole the hearts of everyone at King Street Cats as soon as she arrived. After giving her a little time to rest we took her to a cardiologist and got some not great news. Nani was diagnosed with hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy and needs to be on heart medication for life. Nani is not only beautiful and charming, she is a trooper and doesn’t let all this stop her from enjoying all the attention she gets. She takes her medicine like a champ every morning and brings a smile to everyone who meets her.
Nani loves to wrestle, play chase and knock toys around just like every young cat. If you are looking to adopt two young cats, Nani’s best friend Hope would love to be adopted with her.
