My name is Hamlet. To purr or not to purr, that is the question. I shall purr! I shall purr for you in exchange for your quiet love and affection!

One morning this past spring the King Street Cats volunteers arrived to find three cat carriers sitting on their doorstep: I was in one carrier, and my friends Ophelia and Jonah occupied the other two carriers. Nothing is known about how we arrived here, but we're grateful to have become part of the KSC family. 

No one was more mystified by our arrival than me. I was shy and scared. I hunkered down in the back of my cage and silently watched my new friends as they provided loving care to the cats around me in the special quiet room for new arrivals and kitties needing special attention. Kind hands would offer themselves up for my olfactory inspection, and I began to sniff. Sniff, sniff... I smelled kindness. 

My shock wore off and I began to trust my new friends, and now I am happily enjoying quiet affection and expressing my gratitude with my wonderful rumbling purrs.

I am a quiet and humble boy, and I bask in the glow of gentle, patient purrsons who give me a chance to get to know them. It doesn't take me long now! I am dreaming of a forever home where I can be your steady companion, watch what you're up to, come and collect my head rubs and gentle massages, relax with you, and assure you of my contentment to be in your company with my wonderful purring.

I am about 10 years old of as this posting in July 2015. Do not let this deter you! As my friend Will Shakespeare said in the play he named after me, "There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so." Personally, I think - no, wait... I know - that cats live to 20 years and more, and nothing would make me happier than spending a very long time with you.
