PRECIOUS BLIND BEAUTY WILL MELT YOUR HEART
Hello friends! My name is Nella. I'm a blind, beautiful, supremely silky girl seeking my forever home after being adopted from a shelter into a home where circumstances changed such that I couldn't stay.
I'm here at King Street Cats where my new volunteer friends are enchanted with me and know that we don't need eyes to see that loves comes from the heart. I have so much love to give, and I can't wait to meet the special person who wants to receive it.
I was rescued from a kill shelter (where my prospects were grim) by a kind young girl. The family wasn't able to keep me and now I'm here as a KSC family member where I will be safe until I find my forever home. I'm seeking a special human who has experience with felines and will be able to maintain a safe and consistently organized household where I will be able to learn my way around by sound and scent and memorize a happy and fully functional life for myself.
What might this entail? • The ability to "childproof" (or "kittenproof") your home from sharp, tempting and dangerous obstacles. • The willingness to arrange furniture and other physical 'obstacles' in my world in a consistent way such that once I learn my way around things do not suddenly change on me without warning. (I can of course learn new things but I'll always need your guidance to do that) • The time to spend with me when I first come home until I get acclimated. • The willingness to read up on other blind cats (there is a lot of information available online) so that you'll know how we can best build our life together. • A gentle, soft voice and a willing heart.
I'm a tiny little girl in size but we think I'm about five (5) years old. That's a nice age at which to adopt me! I'm a classic brown tabby with a dark chocolate tabby "M" mark on my forehead, a white chin and chest and a perfect little salmon-colored nose that I use to map out my world. I've shown my new KSC volunteer friends that I can move about well and navigate smaller spaces successfully. We'll be tackling larger territory as time passes. I like people very much as long as they approach me gently and appropriately (talk to me kindly so I learn to recognize your voice and your scent). When you pet me I will emit a lively chirp to let you know how happy I am to be with you!
Please ask about me! My life almost ended at the shelter before it truly began, but now I have my whole future ahead of me. I'm going to grow into someone's best friend and loyal companion - maybe that someone is you. It's easy to get more information or arrange to meet me: send an email to contact@kingstreetcats.org and ask for me, Nella. I will be waiting to hear your voice and melt your heart.
Hopefully yours,
Nella
