SPECIAL GIRL SEEKS A SPECIAL KIND OF PURRSON TO RELEASE HER INNER KITTEN

Hello friends! My name is Reese. I am a beautiful, plush chocolate tabby who finds myself in a world of confusion. How did I get here? What happened to my home? Should I be scared? How will I defend myself without my claws? Do I even need to defend myself? I so badly want a special purrson to help me understand all these changes - someone who will see the inner kitten inside the uncertain cat. Is that you? I promise that I'll be worth your while.

I'm a nine (9) year old girl who's been a family cat until this recent change of circumstances. Nine years old means that I know how to behave, how to mind my manners, and how to be a loyal friend - once I regain my confidence and come to understand that I am safe and loved. Nine years old means that I have a lot of living left to do and a lot of love that I'm ready to give. I'm making wonderful progress here at King Street Cats thanks to the care of my new volunteer friends. They see how gentle I am and know that I will make an excellent "best friend," the kind you'll bond with and come to depend on for companionship.

I dream of being your "one and only" in a quiet, peaceful home. I'm probably one of those kitties who doesn't "show" well at busy adoption events. There are cats who, by nature, are quiet and reserved and prefer not to be the center of attention. These cats aren't flashy and may not attract the attention of those who are easily dazzled. We are about something more subtle and precious. Yes, I think this describes me!

We are the cats who fit together with certain special people like jigsaw puzzle pieces. It's hard to tell when it's going to happen because so many people have so little time to quietly get to know us. But there is that someone out there - someone for me. With this special someone I will relax, feel safe, understand trust and set aside my shyness and reservations.

Maybe you've heard about cats like me. To the casual observer we may appear temperamental, but we're not grouchy or moody; we're just particular about whom we share our affections with. The volunteer friend who's helping me tell my story to you right now shared years with such a cat. It was unforgettable and worth every moment.

I am a very lovely girl with a beautifully shaped face, bright green eyes, a perfect salmon-pink nose with a snowy white blaze on the front, short plush fur with tabby accent marks and stripes, and a snowy white tuxedo. I was declawed before I arrived at KSC so I will rely on you to keep me indoors and protect me from situations where I may feel threatened - I have no way to defend myself so I rely on you.

I hope that my purrson is out there and reads about me and thinks, "I know how she must feel now, and how much better she's going to feel once she's home again." Please come to meet me so that I can go home again - for good. Thank you so much.

Gratefully yours,
Reese
