Domestic Short Hair : : Female
Cammie came to us from a rural shelter along with another kitty.
Though very small she had a big purrsonality and just loves people. Does ok with other cats with a slow introduction, seems to better with male than female.
After Cammie was with us for a bit we noticed she seemed to be having trouble breathing and while she was interested in food, did not eat much.
A vet visit resulted in a diagnosis of a diaphragmatic hernia that would require delicate surgery.
Surgery was done and the surgeon confirmed the hernia was likely the result of trauma as a previously broken rib was discovered, possibly from being kicked.
Cammie had several post-op complications that had things touch-and-go for a few days but she fought hard and turned things around. She is doing great and aside from being on the small side you would never know what all she has been through! She is now a talkative girl with stories to tell.
