I AM IN FOSTER CARE! My name is Pandora (nick name Panda Cat) and I have a sad story that I would like to share with you. I'm a 4-6 year old chocolate-cream siamese girl with cute crossed eyes. I arrived here on 6-6-11 after having quite an ordeal. I was surrendered to the St. Croix Virgin Islands animal shelter when my owner just didn't want me anymore. She turned me in without telling anyone my name and took me there in a burlap bag. I was terrified and humiliated to be tossed out like garbage. I felt rejected and unimportant. Have you ever felt like that? The shelter there gave me the name Pandora and I really like being called Panda. Normally, the St. Croix shelter does not keep older kitties because they have so many kittens and young cats and not enough homes. But a KSC volunteer had offered to sponsor an older kitty to come to KSC. So I was incredibly lucky that my KSC angel paid my way to get me to safety and that a traveler was available to fly me within a week. But the tragedy of losing my home, flying on an airplane and being terrified the entire time really took its toll on me. Shortly after arriving, I simply stopped eating because I did not want to go on anymore. So I was taken into foster care and spent 3 months having my own room because I was so stressed out from all the change in my life. Then my beautiful crystal eyes developed ulcers, which are now all healed and cleared up. But I had to have eye surgery to save one of them. That caused me even more stress. I then went into the KSC cat room in late September and was really nervous around the other cats, so I stayed in my cage. I loved interacting with all of the volunteers and visitors, but then I became depressed because I wasn't getting adopted. So in mid-November, I went to a new foster home and I'm thriving! I'm a tiny, sweet and quirky little girl who is friendly and just wants someone to love me and understand me. If you have ever loved a siamese, you would love me. I am sassy, talkative, but can also be laid back and love to sit in laps and near people. I can get really stressed out if I'm around too much high-energy and chaos. So I would do best in a calm home with no other pets and no young children. I love using scratch posts, I love to sit in sunny windows and watch birds, I like meeting and greeting new people, I like to brush up against people and I'm a great cattle cat (I like to walk in circles around people). I also love to ride around in cars (in my carrier) and will chat with you the whole time! And I love to talk and have the cutest high-pitched meow! My foster mom says I'm Pandorable and Pandalicious! I'm so sad and still feeling so rejected so I really hope you will come see me. Contact my foster parents at mattrudawsky@gmail.com if you want to make me a part of your family.
