Hello friends! My name is Memphis. My memories begin on the streets, where I was alone and frightened. In a situation like mine, you cannot trust anyone. You have to survive. 

My luck changed completely when a kind purrson introduced me to King Street Cats. I traded in my fear and uncertainty for the safety and security of a cherished indoor cat. It was a monumental transition - I had a lot to learn - but I have the best teachers in the world. My KSC volunteer friends are helping me to change my life. My progress makes us all proud!

I make new friends each day with both humans and other kitties. I am still shy, but everyone can now see my gentle, loving purrsonality emerging and shining more brightly each day. I now know that good humans are my friends. They talk to me in soft, encouraging voices. They praise me with gentle head rubs and chin scratches. Their faces light up when I purr with contentment. 

I've made a decision: I want a human of my very own! 

I also enjoy feline companionship. If you have an accepting kitty at home who won't feel threatened by my presence or feel compelled to threaten me, I would enjoy that very much. I watch my four footed friends here and I learn from them. They teach me new games. They demonstrate how to interact with our human friends for maximum mutual enjoyment. 

I'm a (1) year old, which is a wonderful adoption age! I'm a young, vibrant little guy but I'm more mature than a kitten. I have warm, silky fur in jet black and snowy white. You'll love petting me. I have an adorable face with a white blaze in the center. It shows off my pastel pink nose. I use it to map out my world through scent and I'll use it to nudge you when I want to say "hi there" or "pet me, please." I have bright almond-shaped eyes in a spring green and a lionesque little mane of snowy white around my neck. 

Please come to meet me! The life of a cherished family boy is the life I want to lead. I will bring my quiet brand of grace and charm into your home. With your continued patience and gentle encouragement, I will continue to shed my shyness and demonstrate the affection I feel for you inside. I can't wait!
