NOT A STREET "URCHIN" ANYMORE! MORE LIKE THE "BEST BEHAVED LITTLE LADY WITH LOVE TO GIVE!" Oh, and everyone at King Street Cats will confirm that I HAVE A HEART OF PURE GOLD!

Hi! I'm a young girl named Urchin, because I looked a bit like a street urchin when I was first rescued from a life of fending for myself on the streets.

Let me be the first to assure you that I have an absolute heart of gold. ** HEART OF GOLD.** I've proven it to my new friends at King Street Cats and they will back me up on that claim! These are the qualities my friends here use to describe me: gentle, calm, patient, mellow, mild-mannered, kind, considerate, quiet, friendly, and loyal. If one of our wonderful volunteers happens to be petting another cat, I will quietly occupy the next chair and gently tap the person on the arm to remind them that I am nearby and would also love to be petted. Let's say you happened to be writing out your grocery list. I would hop up on the table, sit down next to your pad of paper, and make quiet little meows at you until you looked at me. If you didn't look up for a long, long time, I might take drastic action, such as tapping your paper gently with my paw. If you happen to be very busy and moving around the house, I will follow you and sit patiently by until you have time to give me a nice scratch under my chin. If you are reading a book in a nice chair, I will get as close as I can and step gingerly onto your lap if you'll let me.

When you do pet, rub and scratch me (oooooh, under the chin, I love that!) I will close my eyes and blissfully soak in your love. You are definitely going to know that I appreciate all the love you have to give me!

I had a family in Washington, D.C. but they were not able to keep me in subsidized housing. Sadly, I ended up outside until a friend of King Street Cats came along and offered me the chance to meet a new forever family. That's what I look forward to. I was born around February 2009, which makes me four years young and ready to love. I'm silver and white with short, soft, thick fur, a perfect little pink nose and I am fully house trained and friendly. Come and meet me; I am waiting to go home for good!  I was adopted 6/22/13!
